The Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego county runs two summer camps for children with epilepsy.
Camp Quest is for children ages 8-12, and Camp Coelho for ages 13-15.
Camp Quest is a 6 day/5 night summer camp at Camp Marston in the high mount district of Julian, outside of San Diego. It’s designed to offer an exciting and challenging summer camp experience to children with epilepsy, providing a safe and medically supervised setting which gives parents the confidence to send their children without worry.
Camp Coelho, located in the Yosemite Ridge at Camp Wawona, is open to all children ages of 13-15 with a diagnosis of epilepsy who are residents of California. The goals of Camp Coelho are to provide a safe, enjoyable camping experience, build self-esteem by promoting self-confidence, competency, and social interaction, and to foster independence in a safe environment away from home. Activities include: Archery, Arts and Crafts, Camp Fires, Horseback Riding, Ropes Course, Swimming, and Team Sports.
Camp scholarships are available to San Diego and Imperial County families in need. Out-of-area applicants are placed on a waiting list and notified if space is available.
